YMA, AAFA partner for scholarships

NEW YORK—The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund has made a partnership with the American Apparel & Footwear Association’s Education Foundation to expand their scholarship programs by 10 additional $5,000 scholarships. It will also broaden the base of schools that the YMA works with from 35 to 41.

YMA president and F&T Apparel CEO Jimmy Rosenfeld commented, “The AAFA Education Foundation has a rich history of supporting education in this country and we are excited to bring their partner schools into the roster of schools eligible for the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund’s scholarship program.”

Added AAFA president Kevin Burke, “The combined efforts of the YMA and AAFA Education Foundation will provide more resources and opportunities to develop talent needed for the future of our industry. This is our opportunity to give back to our industry and our customers through a commitment to its next generation of leaders.”

The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund was founded in 1937. It will fund 126 $5,000 scholarships this year.

The AAFA Education Foundation was created in 1968 and has given more than 2,500 scholarships.
