FNO Tommy Hilfiger: Bringing Back the Oldschool

September 9, 2011- This Fashion’s Night Out, Tommy Hilfiger re-embraced the music and culture that helped his brand soar to popularity in the 1990s. (Maybe you remember Snoop Dog walking Tommy’s runway?) The main attraction at the brand’s Fifth Avenue flagship store last night was retro-rapper, Theophilus London, the 23 year-old who was hand-picked by Tommy Hilfiger himself to be the fall face of Hilfiger Denim’s “Kids in America” campaign. London performed songs off his forthcoming album, “TIMEZ ARE WEIRD THESE DAYS” in his signature sunglasses and wide-brimmed hat to an especially large and eager crowd. Guests who spent more than $250 at the store were granted VIP Access to the show, but still, all spectators stood shoulder to shoulder on the main floor, up the staircase, and on the mezzanine to experience the sounds of the rapper who Nylon magazine has named “hip-hop’s newest cool kid.”
